JOB PROFILE
JOB TITLE: Software Engineer
REPORTING TO: Group Leader : Control and Management Software Development
JOB PURPOSE: Design and implementation of features in the control and monitoring solutions.
MAIN DUTIES:
Development and enhancement of software applications to control and manage the equipment used by our customers for the management of Digital Television, working closely with hardware and embedded software engineers to produce system solutions.
Undertake design, coding, unit and integration testing activities to ensure that each assignment is completed to time and fulfils the original requirements specification.
Undertake investigations and produce rapid solutions to customer problems, including the maintenance of existing software.
To ensure all stages of the software life cycle are documented to a high standard in accordance with company processes.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION:
A very good degree (2.1 or above) in Computer Science or Electronic Engineering is essential, plus a minimum of three years of software development in an Engineering industry. A background in digital television, telecommunications or embedded software engineering will be highly advantageous.
Skills required:
? Expert knowledge of C++ within the Visual Studio .NET environment
? Object orientated design, UML
? Knowledge of Microsoft MFC, COM and*or ATL
? Software Test methods (preferably NUnit)
? Ability to work under pressure with complex legacy or third-party code with rapidly changing priorities and task assignments
? Exceptional communication; high standard of written communication skills
? Experience of working with professional electronics equipment
