Hands-on Configuration * Build * Release Manager - £35k to £45k p.a. - Maidenhead
Configuration Manager * Release Manager * Build Manager is required for my London client. The ideal candidate will be currently employed by a software house, with a job title such as Configuration Manager or Release Manager or Build Manager (or specialist or engineer) with a year of two of experience in the job.
Technical skills should include very good knowledge of source code control systems (such as MKS, Clearcase, etc.); very good knowledge of defect tracking using software such as MKS or ClearQuest or similar; Good level of experience with automated builds, using software such as VisualBuild. Strong Win2000 and Win2003 OS knowledge is required, as is strong SQL knowledge and scripting. The ability to put a PC together for a developer is also necessary, as are troubleshooting and support skills. My client will be looking for strong development lifecycle and release management process experience, in addition to good communication skills.
Job functions will include development and Maintenance of the Source Code Control and Defect Management Systems (MKS); Development and Maintenance of the Automated Build System (VisualBuild); Integration of the MKS systems with QA systems (SQL + Misc); Development and Maintenance of the document workflow system (Sharepoint); Definition and implementation of a consistent approach for installations across product lines; Production of effective and up-to-date product reports detailing the current state of the product lines; and Support of the day to day MKS issues as raised by developers.
