Our Client is a global leader in the supply Brakes & Clutch assemblies to the worldwide motor sport industry from Formula 1 to World Rally and specialist road vehicles. The company designs and assembles the brakes and clutches from a parts list of over 27,000 parts numbers, takes orders via a telesales operation and has a purchasing power of approx £11 Million.
To ensure all of the orders are captured the company runs MRP at the end of each day.
The Role of the Materials Planner will involve:
Taking the MRP report each morning and producing an action plan with regard to what is required for the sales orders received
Check what parts are needed for the orders & look at stock levels to see if parts are available
Reorder any stock that may be needed before order can go through to shop floor for assembly
Once all parts are available for an order release order on to shop floor
Experience:
Ideally possess some knowledge of engineering and be able to understand an engineering drawing
Any previous experience of working with an MRP system would be advantageous but not essential (an understanding of the concept will suffice)
Person:
Possess an enquiring brain to ask, “Why am I ordering this?”
