JOB PURPOSE
Organises, directs and co-ordinates via team members the call-off of all raw materials in accordance with the production program and forecasted budget, across the Business.
DIMENSIONS
This position forms part of the material supply team, providing support to manufacturing through the smooth and efficient management of all day to day activity within the goods receiving stores. This position requires the effective management & measurement of a team of Storemen and Stock Controller who together operate the Ingredients and Packaging stores. Strong alignment to the Planning Function is also a pre-requisite.
RESPONSIBILITIES
? Ascertains by discussions and effective communication with departmental heads the current and future requirements of necessary materials required to meet business & customer needs.
? Ensures at all times optimum levels of stocks are kept for current production plans and to cover repairs, breakdowns and similar contingencies, which could affect requirements.
? Co-ordinate and manage internally and externally the delivery of all materials, and the dates by which they are required, making due allowances for fluctuations in the planning * production program which could affect requirements. Develop and introduce best practice techniques as required to achieve the maximum utilisation of storage space, maintaining continuity of production.
? The continual appraisal of routine systems affecting material intake, stock turnover, storage and distribution.
? The analysis and resolution * corrective action of identified shortages affecting production, advising and implementing where necessary changes in order to minimise any detrimental effects on the Business.
