Fabricator / Welder
Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which reqires working days. Some overtime will be available.
Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.
Education: The applicant should have completed high school.
Experience: at least three years experience.
Credentials required: The applicant should have Welder Trade Certification, ASME certification desired
Type of Establishment/Work Setting Experience: Manufacturing, Industrial
Area of Specialization: Custom fabrication, Pressure vessels
Welding Techniques: Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG), Gas metal arc welding (GMAW) (MIG), Vessel
Type of Machine Experience: Gas welding machines
Welding Positions: All positions
Materials: Stainless steel, Steel, iron and heavy metals, Titanium and special alloys, Non-ferrous materials
Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Specific Skills: Interpret welding process specifications, Operate hoisting and lifting equipment, Prepare jigs or set-ups for welding
Additional Skills: Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes, Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots, Safety glasses/goggles, Gloves, Face shield, Welding helmet
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Attention to detail, Standing for extended periods
Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Own vehicle, Valid driver’s licence
Essential Skills: Reading text, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory
