We are looking for a senior level UNIX system admin that will be able to work independently. Successful candidate will provide onsite UNIX support for major financial company`s Data Centers. Responsibilities
• Provides installation, support, and maintenance of servers and other computer systems
• Efficiently manage configuration of servers and services
• Implement/maintain monitoring and trending for all deployed servers and services
• Assists with planning for and responding to service outages and other problems (SLAs)
• Able to take on a leadership role in managing systems-related projects
• Must be able quickly and correctly diagnose problems with computer systems and introduce the best way to fix the problem
• Perform vulnerability assessments
• Perform security log analysis and review
• Previous experience in working and operating a 24x7 Production System
• Must be a team player
• Must collaborate at a global level Domestic and Internationally
• Other duties as assigned
• Strong understanding of shell scripting language and be able to write, troubleshoot, and support complicated scripts
• Understand multi-tier, multiple platform environments, and System administration.
• Familiar with Service Level Agreements (SLA) / Operational Level Agreements (OLA)
• Work with guidance on several concurrent projects in a highly dynamic environment. Assume
the technical responsibility on multiple projects simultaneously; interface with customers in order to resolve technical system, application, and end user issues
Requirement
• 6 years of experience administering SOLARIS, AIX, MS Server 2000 / 2003 environments
• 3+ years experience in an Enterprise Development / Production Support Environment.
• Willing to work overtime and be on-call
• 3+ years experience writing scripts (Perl, ksh, bash etc.)
• Aid in the installation or consolidation of applications, developing system administration scripts, planning version release upgrades and patches, security administration and supporting the development of processes and policies surrounding server administration.
• The candidate will also assist in performance tuning of the servers, routine backups of system and applications on the servers and the establishment of system recovery procedures.
• Working knowledge of SAN and NAS
• Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship
• Must be able to clear a thorough background check
