QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN
Level: Experienced
Will consider entry level Food Science graduate..
DUTIES:
Ensure that all quality policies and procedures are followed on a daily basis.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform daily pre-operational plant and line inspection.
• Daily pre-operational line swabbing to confirm proper sanitation procedures.
• Fill sink with cleaner, rinse and sanitizer. Test for proper dilution.
• Execute daily scale calibration verification.
• Check temperatures in various locations.
• Weekly thermometer calibration.
• Verify that the metal detectors are functioning on an hourly basis and calibrate items to achieve the desired sensitivity.
• Maintain files for HACCP, GMP and all Quality Assurance records and forms.
• Conduct specified in house tests and monitor results reporting any concerns to the QA Director.
• Observe that employees follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and proper hygiene procedures. Inform QA Director or Plant Manager of violations.
• Assist with training new and existing employees in GMPs, SOPs, HACCP and Safety.
• Responsible for correct and timely completion of QA forms used for process control.
• Ensure compliance of all SOP’s.
• Inform QA Director of out-of-range results and verify that processing adjustments are made to bring results within specifications.
• Perform daily product inspection and evaluations.
• Able to taste and score products daily.
• Monitor finished product handling, shipping, and storage conditions.
• Work with Production to improve yields, efficiencies, product quality, and minimize product waste.
• Interact with members of production, sanitation and office staff.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS NEEDED:
• SPANISH BILINGUAL
• Able to speak, read and write in English
• Weekend work necessary
