Duties and Responsibilities
• Deep knowledge of/experience in the Kimball DW/BI Design & Implementation Methodologies
• Lead and direct multiple consulting teams to deliver data warehouse and BI solutions utilizing the Microsoft BI platform.
• Deep Data modeling based on business requirements, and optimization of data models for business intelligence implementations
• Performance tuning, maintenance, analysis of existing data warehouse and business intelligence implementations (involving SQL Server 2000/05/08 tools)
• Migration of existing data warehouse and business intelligence from other BI platforms or earlier versions of the MS Platform
• Communication with technical and business staff in technical and plain English language
• Documentation of all work carried out (e.g. data models, configurations, and setup); Occasional business analysis
• Assistance in preparation of project proposals, including client and vendor meetings
• Input into the Scalability Experts best practice for BI projects
Essential Qualifications and Experience
• Deep experience as a SQL Server 2005/08 BI developer
• Architect level experience in team environment with mid to high-end projects from inception through delivery with competency in most of the following areas
• Logical and physical database design experience
• Strong knowledge of hardware performance tuning in support of RLDW, OLAP, ETL.
• Strong knowledge of HA/DR implementation of BI infrastructure across multiple data centers using SQL Server 2005/2008 and hardware technologies.
• Strong knowledge of HP and/or Unisys hardware architecture for X64, Itanium, and SAN storage.
• Strong knowledge of SAN configuration at disk and LUN level for DB data files and transaction level performance tuning.
• SQL Server 2005/08 RDBMS database development including T-SQL programming
• SQL Server 2005/08 OLAP database development including MDX programming
• ETL implementation using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• BI presentation delivery utilizing SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or other BI tools including ProClarity
• Client facing and thinking strategically from client’s perspective to deploy correct solutions
• Strong knowledge of Performance Point
• In-depth Monitoring and Analytics
• Development of Dashboards, Scorecards, Charts, integration of charting and pivot tables, SSRS integration
• BI capabilities of Office 2007
• SharePoint 2007
• PerformancePoint integration and deployment
• Report Services integration and deployment
