JOB TITLE: Manager, Online Development
DEPARTMENT: IT
REPORTS TO: Director, IT
SUMMARY: The Manager, Online Development will take ownership of all aspects of NYAS’s web properties from website enhancement, development, multimedia to consumer sales and direct response strategies.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Enhance and maintain the content of the web properties and its direct response capabilities.
Working with Program Managers, serve customers needs by creating richer, more complete online experience and product offerings that will enable them to connect and to obtain relevant information more effectively and efficiently.
Develop and improve CMS processes.
Enhance and maintain the company’s web marketing capabilities.
Accelerate revenue and profits growth from Internet-based media perspective.
Manage the existing production environment including the CMS.
Oversee asset/content delivery i.e. resizing, encoding, and/or uploading to sites via the CMS.
Launch new E-Commerce component and its integration with other organizational systems, such as a CRM or AMS (Association Management System), financial systems and fund raising systems.
Develop and implement web applications, sites, and site features.
Participate in requirements gathering discussions and document requirements.
Collaborate with vendors, product managers, and other developers to deliver projects on deadline.
Write system documentation and test plans for new products/sites.
Explore and advise on new technologies.
Propose/brainstorm on new feature ideas.
Partner with Marketing to optimize marketing campaigns and identify areas to improve.
Review statistics and web analytics with Marketing for complete overview of overall site traffic.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. 4-6 years experience in leading new product development projects, for complex, interactive websites. Deep understanding of online media including audience usage patterns, operations, revenue models, emerging technologies. Experience in new product launches, preferably online products. Ability to communicate effectively with technical staff, and to act as a liaison between non-technical business staff and IT staff. Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities. Deep familiarity with underlying technology of Internet applications. Demonstrated work experience with at least one relational database management system. Demonstrated proficiency in at least one structured programming language. Reads and understands XML schemas. Ability to think strategically about the proper role of online media products and the production and post production processes. Commitment to delivering results, "whatever it takes". Proactively seeks opportunities to broaden and deepen knowledge base and proficiencies. Shares acquired skills with team members through formal and informal channels. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Compensation: 60k-75k neg
