Founded in 2004, New York-based SecondMarket (Member FINRA | MSRB | SIPC), is the largest centralized marketplace for illiquid assets, such as auction-rate securities, bankruptcy claims, collateralized debt obligations, mortgage-backed securities, limited partnership interests, private company stock, restricted securities and blocks in small capitalization companies and whole loans. Our 3,000 participants include global financial institutions, hedge funds, private equity firms, mutual funds, corporations and other institutional and accredited investors that collectively manage over $1 trillion in assets available for investment.
Java UI Engineer
We currently have several opportunities available for highly motivated and talented software engineers to join our growing team in downtown Manhattan. We are leveraging the latest and most exciting technologies, and need the best and brightest people to help us create the most advanced financial systems in the world.
Must have Requirements include:
• Working experience with a Java MVC UI Framework like Struts, JSF or Spring MVC
• A history of delivering N-Tier Enterprise Java applications
Desired Requirements include:
• Working experience with Google Web Toolkit (GWT) – preferably GXT
• AJAX
• Experience developing Spring components
• Prior Experience with Hibernate
• JMS Messaging
• Experience building financial software (trading systems, auction or marketplace applications)
• Proficient with Subversion and Maven
• Financial Experience
• Experience of working in an agile environment
• Database agnostic with experience using postgresql or mysql
• Working experience with JIRA/Confluence
• Strong quality ethic and commitment to good automated acceptance test coverage
• Willing to work long hours if necessary
• Team player with positive attitude
