Leading Fragrance and Beauty Company, specializing in design and product manufacturing, is looking for an enthusiastic, self-starting, team player to join our Product Development Team as a Product Development Assistant. The prospective candidate will work with our Product Development Team to assist in all areas of the product development and production phases.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work effectively on many projects in all stages of product development. This would entail:
*Track all development samples between vendors, company, and client.
*Communicate with clients & vendors on sample tracking. This includes tracking client feedback & sample dates from vendors.
*Catalog and maintain a thorough library of the development history of all products.
*Maintain deadlines for all critical product development milestones in order to meet product launch dates.
*Communicate deadlines to the Product Development Team.
*Organize the receipt and delivery of artwork between the clients, company, and vendors. This includes tracking all necessary revisions, and when necessary communicating revisions needed to designers and clients.
*Organize and maintain artwork files in both hard copy and electronic formats, proofreading when needed.
*Maintain standards and assembly instructions on all items throughout progress of projects for head of PD Team to communicate and vendors.
*Make Bills of Materials and ensue their prompt arrival to vendor prior to component delivery. Update vendor with changes whenever necessary.
*Source and size out packing materials for master cartons.
-Assist production and sales in tracking components and finished goods inventory.
-Create consistent work throughout all stages of projects keeping in mind brand integrity and strategy.
-Prioritize projects to meet tight deadlines consistent with fast paced manufacturing environments.
Required Competencies
-Computer literacy with a high proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
-2-4 Years experience as a Product Specialist/Product Development Assistant in the beauty, fashion, or consumer product industry and/or experience in packaging and sourcing.
Qualifications
-Strong verbal and written skills.
-Ability to work with employees at all levels.
-Ability to multi-task effectively with high attention to detail to produce high quality work.
-Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills with a tremendous attention to detail.
-Must be able to work in a high-pressured environment effectively.
-Basic knowledge of MRP systems is a plus.
