Position: Network / Telephony Engineer
Reports To: Engineering and Services Delivery Manager
Location: New York, NY
General Position Description: The will work on installations, projects, service requests and day to day office tasks. In addition he/she will be a point of contact for all service requests. This position includes but is not limited to the following duties:
• Open and assign service requests
• Check clients networks
• Answering incoming phone calls
• Handle basic service tickets such as password changes, user creation, email setup, etc.
• Assist on network and IP telephony projects
• Manage licensing, support, and maintenance programs
• Participate in a weekly after hours on-call rotation
• Handle ShoreTel service tickets
• Handle basic tasks in our managed services platform
• Install and Configure ShoreTel Telephony Platforms
• Integrate telephony systems into existing and new customer networks
• Oversee and respond to customer installation and support issues
• Troubleshoot problems and respond with recommendations, patches, or upgrades as appropriate
• Provide Training to customer and support staff on system installation and operation
• Develop and update user and technical documentation
• Support in-house telephony infrastructure

Qualifications:
• Associates degree or equivalent experience
• Willingness to learn and adapt to constantly changing industry
• LAN/WAN Engineering
• Experience designing, evaluating and recommending network solutions
• Experience in the networking/telecommunication industry
• Experience working with telecommunications vendors
• Experience with large network integration projects a plus
• Demonstrated success working in collaborative team project with excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to logically troubleshoot
• Ability to document solutions to problems
• Ability to operate standard office equipment such as printers, copiers, etc.
• ShoreTel Certifications (Highly Desired), HP Networking Certifications(Highly Desired), Cisco Certifications or any other industry certifications are helpful.
Training Objectives:
• Learn internal systems through hands on and web based training
• Achieve certification on the ShoreTel Platform
• Achieve certification on the HP networking Platform
