Network Consulting company is looking for DeskTop / Server support technician with 3-5 years experience and skills in Microsoft environment troubleshooting and repair. This position provides first and second level support for multiple clients utilizing different platforms and environments, and remote support for small to medium sized networks. This role offers the motivated candidate the opportunity to advance to Junior Engineer, Systems/Project Engineer, and Project Management, providing higher-level support, as well as working on the design and implementation of projects.
A successful candidate must demonstrate:
* The ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written form to technical and non-technical people.
* Proven customer service and follow-up skills.
* Outstanding troubleshooting and problem solving abilities.
* Strong organizational and prioritizing skills.
* Excellent documentation skills.
* Responsibility as a self-motivated team member, with a passion for technology, and both mentored and independent learning.
Applicants should posses experience supporting end-users in the following areas:
* Knowledge of TCP/IP based Windows environments.
* Experience with various PC and Server Backup methods and software.
* Understanding of basic productivity applications such as email, word processing, spreadsheets, web browsers, etc.
* A basic understanding of networking infrastructure such as routers, firewalls, and switches.
* Familiar with remote control software such as VNC, Remote Desktop, DameWare, etc.
* Knowledge of applications such as FTP clients, anti-virus, anti-spyware, and diagnostic tools.
* Experience with a variety of hardware manufacturers and software vendors.
* Installation and troubleshooting of Windows 2000/2003, XP and Vista platforms.
* Installation and troubleshooting of Windows Server platforms.
* Experience setting up/troubleshooting PC`s and servers with operating systems and applications.
* Experience with Mac OS / Linux is a plus.
