JOB SUMMARY:


Demonstrates makeup application on spa and salon guests while selling makeup products. Performs direct selling activities to guests to achieve beauty, hair and nail retail sales objectives. Manages and oversees the day-to-day operations of the retail area, ensuring salon and spa standards are in compliance. Performs functions such as merchandising, inventory control, recruiting, and training. Develops procedures and goals and executes training programs to equip and motivate selling by staff members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Technical Service Provision and Selling


Demonstrates technical expertise in the application of makeup to spa/salon guests


• As licensing permits, performs facial waxing services and eyelash extensions


• Technical services will be provided regularly however, depending on the traffic of the unit, Thursday, Friday and Saturday will typically be dedicated to providing full-time technical services


Demonstrates outstanding selling skills to achieve/exceed retail sales goals


• Drives sales through:


• proficiently applying makeup to guests sharing product features and benefits


• creating and participating in promotional events, staff photo-shoots, fashion shows and other marketing events


• developing and booking seasonal or periodic in-house events to introduce new products to new and existing guests


• assisting, coaching and motivating staff in attaining retail sales goals


• conducting sales training with spa/salon staff to strengthen and reinforce product knowledge and selling skills


• performing visual merchandising for retail area and spa, ensuring established standards are maintained; adheres to visual merchandising standards including compliance with the current Success Kit, execution of Twice Weekly Visual Merchandising Checklists and participation in Monthly Merchandising Audits


• actively participating in conference calls with peers and other managers to develop tactics that relate to increasing retail sales





Supervision/Admin


• Oversees day-to-day operations of the retail area to ensure that related operations run smoothly and efficiently.


• Assists management in recruiting, training and managing team of Makeup Artists, ensuring a high level of technical performance, selling skills and guest service


• Coaches spa/salon staff on proper use of retail recommendation forms and ensures that skincare regimen consultations and makeup touch-ups are being scheduled for as many guests as possible


• Monitors and maintains retail stock levels to avoid shortages or overstock situations


• Oversees Makeup Artists’ activities to conduct regular cycle counts of retail inventory, accurately count received orders ensuring on hand levels in inventory system are as accurate as possible, and correctly price, stock and display retail products


• Acts as “Manager on Duty” as needed, performing opening and closing duties; has proficiency in booking systems for performing guest check in/out processes, as needed


• Performs additional projects or duties as assigned





Job Requirements


• Aesthetics License Required


• Previous experience as a Makeup Artist and retail sales management experience in a beauty or spa environment.


• Appropriate training, experience and certification to perform technical services


• Highly motivated with excellent selling, interpersonal and communication skills


• Team player with strong leadership and supervisory skills


• Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines with a sense of urgency


• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and administrative skills


• Self-starter, able to work independently with little or no direction


• Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Excel and Outlook)


• Flexible and available to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays
