What This Position Is All About:
This IT specialist position will wear many hats and have many roles and tasks. Works types will run from Help Desk/Desktop Support, Server Management, Network Management, directly reporting to C level people at clients, Sales and new opportunities, Project management and more.
Some job requirements in detail would be…
- Managing and maintaining our Remote Management Solution (Level Plaforms)
- Managing and maintaining clients backup solutions (Off-Site, BackupExec)
- Managing and maintaining clients Antivirus (AVG, Symantec Endpoint, Symantec 10.2)
- Managing and maintaining clients Virtual Environments (VMWare Server, VMWare ESX)
- Managing and maintaining clients Servers (SBS 2003, SBS 08, Server 2003, Server 2008) includes
- Group Policy & Active Directory
- Managing and maintaining clients Workstations (XP, Vista)
- Managing network rollout projects from start to finish
- Managing switches, routers and other network devices for clients. Includes DHCP, VPN, Sonicwall, Cisco
- Routine Maintenance of all systems
Required Skills
- Ability to convey issues to clients in a clear, concise and non-technical manner.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues over the phone and in person.
- Must have MCP and at least 1 test towards MCSA. MCSA/MCSE a plus
- Must have at least 2 years experience in Server/Network management
- At least 3 years in a technical position, moving up the ranks
- Prior management/Team lead skills a plus
- VMware Experience
- Server 2003, Server 2008 Experience
- Symantec Products such as BackupExec, Antivirus
- Understanding and practice with DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Exchange, SMTP, IIS, TCP
- Availability on night and weekends for project or on-call based support
