Responsibilities & Activities:
*Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
*Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
*Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal business units to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: business requirements, functional requirements, use cases, screen and interface sketches, workflow and dataflow diagrams.
*Build clear and concise documentation, using prose and diagrams, to communicate the business needs effectively to technology; and the capabilities of technology back to the business.
*Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
*Work under the direction of project managers, and independently, with users to define requirements.
*Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.
*Serve as a conduit between the business unit community and the data warehouse/business intelligence development teams through the requirements flow.
*Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision.
*Analyze trade-offs between delivery date requirements, feature scope, usability and performance needs.
Skills:
* 2 - 4 years of business (non-IT) experience is necessary
*Strong analytical skills – including an understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into requirements for the data warehouse, accompanying business rules, or operational reporting.
*Excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to interact with a diverse group of executives, managers and subject matter experts.
*Advance proficiency with Microsoft Word and Visio.
*Microsoft Project is a plus.
*Some knowledge of SQL, Data Warehousing
