The Surrey is a 5 star hotel experience located in New York`s most elite neighborhood. The 190 room luxury hotel is set in the heart of the Upper East Side known for its legendary shopping, attractions and located just steps away from Central Park. The hotel will partner with world renowned celebrity chef, Daniel Boulud, to operate its Food and Beverage outlets which include a restaurant, stand alone lounge, private dining rooms and an exclusive roof top patio. The Surrey will be impeccable and elegant yet friendly and authentic.
Essential Functions:
Prepares detailed, rolling forecasts, reflecting revenue and expense management actions being taken resulting in strong flow through.
Works closely with Hotel GM`s as a business partner providing insightful analysis on operating profitability and suggests proactive actions required to accomplish business results
Leads financial results portion of monthly operating reviews with GM and Senior Leadership articulating informative descriptions of historical results and updated forecasts
Generates accurate financial statements and works with external auditors to confirm results
Provides monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
Provides monthly financial forecasts/reviews and critiques with GM and Hotel team
Prepares hotel budgets and advises the GM`s on strategies to get to acceptable results.
Ensures timely filing of all tax returns and payments
Analyzes and implements ideas for the team to manage the workload without compromising quality
Prepares daily and monthly cash flow forecasts
Ability to assist in future acquisitions and take-overs
Experience and Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Hotel Controller (minimum 2-3 years)
Computer skills- Excel, Word, Financial System
Accounting or Business degree
Tax regulations and reporting requirements
Proven team leader with a high level of motivation and a proven track record of living the company`s values. Results oriented with an emphasis on both individual and team accountability. Has led a diverse staff.
Desirable:
Direct experience in Hotel Operations
